Ingrown toenails
Common causes and risk factors of an ingrown toenail are footwear that places a lot of pressure on the toes, such as shoes that are too tight or narrow, improper trimming of the toenail (can encourage the nail to grow into the skin) and improper foot hygiene, such as not keeping your feet clean and dry. That cause the toes to be compressed together and pressure the nail to grow abnormally. An ingrown toenail is most common on the big toe but can occur on the other toes.
